Richard M. Nixon County Park
The Richard M. Nixon County Park is a great place for wildlife enthusiasts.
This 157-acre park contains a 14,000-square-foot Environmental Education Center with a 180-piece collection of mounted wild animals from all over the world. The glass south wall of the center provides the perfect perch for bird watchers to sit in comfort while observing critters.
The park also features a working beehive, a “touch room,” live snakes and numerous special nature programs. A butterfly garden and bluebird nesting boxes are located nearby the center as well as turtle-filled ponds.
Tired of talking to the animals? Then commune with nature on six miles of hiking trails that weave throughout the park.
Full-time Naturalists staff the Center and offer guided nature walks and programs to pre-scheduled groups.
