Samuel S. Lewis State Park
The highest point in York County is the 885-foot Mount Pisgah, which is located in 71-acre Samuel S. Lewis State Park. The overlook offers a spectacular view of the Susquehanna River as it winds it way through Pennsylvania to the Chesapeake Bay.
Mount Pisgah’s crest offers kite flyers an opportunity to sail on the winds and stargazers a chance to reach to the heavens. The park, named for a long-time state cabinet member who served conservationist Gov. Gifford Pinchot as well as others, also features open fields, playgrounds and picnic and hiking areas.
