Speedwell Forge County Park
Located between the Pennsylvania Fish and Boat Commission's Speedwell Forge Lake and the wooded State Game Lands of the nearby Furnace Hills, Speedwell Forge County Park is in an area where much of the land is preserved in public ownership.
The 415-acre park features upland woods, maturing forest, wetland woods, cultivated fields, spring wildflowers and a meadow along Hammer Creek.
The park has a variety of animal life that includes deer, ruffed grouse, wood thrushes and several kinds of woodpeckers. Plant life includes nodding trillium, bellwort, showy orchis, dwarf ginseng, rattlesnake plantain, wood anemone, Joe-pye weed, goldenrod, spotted jewelweed and birdsfoot violet.
Stream fishing, hunting and trapping are permitted in season.
Restrictions: No alcohol. Hunting allowed during authorized seasons with license.
