Susquehanna Gateway Heritage Area - SITE
Bell's Run Nature Preserve
Bell’s Run is the easternmost Lancaster County Conservancy property. It flows into the Octoraro Creek before flowing into the Susquehanna River. It teams with a unique variety of wildlife including salamanders, wood thrushes, catbirds, cuckoos, white-tailed deer and red fox. The stream features black-nose dace, a minnow that is an indicator of good water quality. This site is also one of six LCC sites with geocaching available. Geocaching uses a handheld global positioning system to introduce people to nature. The Lancaster County Conservancy is the first non-profit land trust in the world to actively participate in geocaching.
Restrictions: No bikes, alcohol, fishing, hunting, camping or fires. Pets must be leashed.
