Reed Run Nature Preserve
This 148-acre preserve features a combination of forest and field habitats that attract white-tailed deer and wild turkeys. Two small streams, Brubaker Run and Reed Run, flow through the property and feature waterfalls as the terrain descends on its way to the Susquehanna River.
The preserve is known for its stand of Umbrella magnolia trees, featuring a large and showy flower in spring, But perhaps the best thing about Reed Run Nature Preserve is the magnificent overlook that comprises the pristine lower river gorge.
Restrictions: No bikes, alcohol, hunting, fishing, camping or fires. Pets must be leashed.
