Wissler Run Nature Preserve
Wissler Run is a direct tributary of the Susquehanna River and is located in southern Lancaster County’s Drumore Township. Waterfalls spill into quiet pools of water that flow into shallow marshes which make the preserve an inviting retreat for birds, such as great horned owls, thrushes, nuthatches, cardinals, woodpeckers, and animals, like deer, raccoons, mice and garter snakes.
The 18-acre woodland sanctuary also features an abundance of plants like rhododendron, mountain laurel, azalea and viburnums.
Fishing and hunting is permitted in season.
Restrictions: No bikes, alcohol, hunting, fishing, camping or fires. Pets must be leashed.
