Lancaster Junction Trail
A large part of Pennsylvania history is reflected in railroading. Lancaster County, for example, features the Pennsylvania Railroad Museum, in Strasburg, and many former rail line sites, like the nearby Conewago Recreation Trail, that have been reclaimed for public use and adapted for recreation.
The Lancaster Junction Recreation Trail is a little more than two miles long between Lancaster Junction, near Mount Joy, and Route 283. It is part of the former Reading-Columbia rail line and runs through scenic Lancaster County farmland near the Chickies Creek.
The graded, level trail is convenient for hikers, joggers, bicyclists, horseback riders and cross-country skiers.
Restrictions: No motorized vehicles, alcohol, hunting or fires.
