Since designation as a Pennsylvania Heritage Area in 2001, the Susquehanna Gateway Heritage Area has worked with a variety of local partners and organizations to help advance heritage tourism and conservation initiatives throughout Lancaster and York Counties. As we look forward to our next ten years as a heritage area, our goal is to continue our work of connecting people to the river and its history.

SGHA is part of a variety of networks and partnerships that work to advance the preservation of natural and cultural heritage, conserve heritage resources, educate the public and promote economic development through community revitalization and heritage/outdoor tourism.
