In 2004 the Heritage Area, in partnership with Rivertownes PA USA, an advisory committee and local residents, initiated a process to create a River Towns Heritage Development Strategy. The Strategy included researching, examining and analyzing existing resources and current economic conditions and trends.
A key focus of the Strategy is to provide recommendations for strengthening the River Towns’ collective competitive advantage while building community pride and recognizing new economic opportunities by celebrating heritage resources in the historic Susquehanna River communities of Marietta, Columbia and Wrightsville.
