  • River Art Collection Open House

    Wrightsville, PA - Susquehanna Gateway Heritage Area (SGHA) is hosting an Art Open House for the Visions of the Susquehanna River Art Exhibit on Friday, October 22, 2010 from 5-9pm. This collection is housed at SGHA’s office, The Zimmerman Center for Heritage and includes works purchased from the original Visions of the Susquehanna exhibit which toured museums in the mid-Atlantic region several years ago.

Brunner Island PA Boat Safety Course
Feb 4, 2012 Get an early jump on the boating season by taking a safe boating course. The Pennsylvania Fish & Boat Commission boating safety class gives boaters practical information so they can make more informed decisions on the water. Topics include boat terminology, legal requirements, water activities, and safety and rescue. Boater Safety Education Certificates are required for all operators of Personal Watercrafts and for boat operators born after 1/1/82 that operate motors 25 + horsepower.

Winter Waterfowl on the Susquehanna
Feb 12, 2012 Shank's Mare - With the help of representatives from York County Parks, join us for an afternoon hike along the Susquehanna. Before the hike, we’ll get a preview of the winter waterfowl that inhabit our area, as well as descriptive information on how to spot these birds. Then we’ll head outside for a leisurely hike along the river looking for glimpses of these winter visitors.
Susquehanna Indian Village Hike
Feb 25, 2012 Join Shank's Mare and local resident and archaeologist Jan Klinedinst on a guided hike on the Native Lands Trail portion of the Mason-Dixon Trail. We will visit the sites of our “Andastes” villages and other prehistoric and historic settlements along the Susquehanna.
A Night of Time Travel - Family Sleepover at the Watch and Clock Museum
Mar 2, 2012 Take a journey into the history and science of time with hands-on activities, crafts, and demonstrations. The night's activities are designed for kids ages 6-12 and their parents or adult chaperones.
