A Look Back at Hunting, Fishing & Trapping on the Susquehanna River
Susquehanna National Heritage Area and local historian Lynn Smoker present A Look Back at Hunting, Fishing & Trapping on the Susquehanna River, now on display at Columbia Crossing River Trails Center. Visitors will see original and unique tools and artifacts related to hunting, fishing, and trapping, including a locally built duck boat from 1927, along with an array of mounted waterfowl, fish, and furbearing mammals. Learn about how the river has sustained generations of river residents.
Visitors to Columbia Crossing are asked to wear masks/face coverings and maintain a social distance of 6-feet from other visitors. Disposable masks are available. Only 25 visitors will be permitted inside the exhibit hall at a time.
The ExtraGive is the perfect day to recognize the great contributions that the river region has provided to our local community. SNHA has been working to protect, enhance and promote the river’s recreation and heritage resources for nearly two decades. With the support of amazing donors, SNHA can continue to make the river a better place to visit and live. Whether providing access to animals for food and warmth or the contemplative solace to feed our creativity, the river has long fulfilled humans’ hierarchy of needs. Give online all day at http://www.extragive.org/organizations/susquehanna-heritage or use a giving station at Columbia Crossing.
