We send out a special thank you to the Maytown Fire Department to providing two rescue boats on the water during our event and to the East Donegal Ambulance for being on hand in case of a medical emergency.

In 2013, we hosted the first Susquehanna Heritage Flatwater Challenge Canoe and Kayak Event. Now an annual tradition, each July our event offers three courses to attract paddlers of all abilities to have fun on and experience the river.

Guided by the expertise of an experienced river paddler, we have designed something for everyone. For the novice paddler and youth, we offer a 1-mile course. The 4-mile course is just right for the recreational paddler and great family fun! The 8-mile course is a USCA and PACK qualifying race, but is open to anyone who wants more of a challenge or to enjoy more time on the water.

The Susquehanna Riverlands is a national destination for outdoor fun and culture discovery, but we don’t just want to get folks to the Riverlands, but we want get them on the river! Paddlers join us for the Flatwater Challenge from down the road, across the Commonwealth, and neighboring states too!
